It is well known that maintaining your home well will save you money in the long run, but many people forget to perform the maintenance they need. Here is a good list of annual items worth checking up on to keep your home well kept!

-  Check for any leaks around sinks or faucets  that could potentially develop into larger leaks

-  Check for any drips or visible water somewhere that could mean a larger issue is present and  repairs  are needed

-  Take out the batteries from your smoke detectors and replace them

-  Check all smoke detector connections and replace any loose wiring

-  Clean air conditioner filters by vacuuming or rinsing them well with a hose to remove dust build up

- Straighten coil fins. The aluminum fins on evaporator and condenser coils are easily bent and can block airflow through the coil.

- Check to make sure every door and window is well closed and latched well so air can't get in or out easily

- Proper lubrication can enhance the performance and operation of your windows. Windows which include tracks and rollers have to be lubricated every few months to keep them working smoothly.

While some of the tasks on this annual home maintenance checklist may seem daunting, it’s best to get them done as soon as possible so you can avoid any costly (or dangerous) repairs down the road. What do you think about these tips?
